This match:
13th April v Lincolnshire [Away]
Won 30-14

The ladies made the trip to Boston hoping for a big win against an improving Lincolnshire side. We would have been overjoyed to get up to the 40 mark after our 37-7 victory here last season, but we lost a few frames in every leg meaning we couldn't quite achieve that scoreline. Everyone played well though and there was a great atmosphere between the teams. One of the highlights of the day was the addition of Julie's swear box which caused plenty of merriment, we were rattling up the pennies all day with all contributions going to LOROS!! Thanks to the Lincs girls for joining in the fun, it was a very enjoyable day all round!

Karen Wesseldine came into the starting line-up from the bench and played excellently to win maximum frames, along with myself. But it was Sarah Day who was awarded player of the match, scoring three from four. Captain Chris Kirk, Steph Kirk and Julia Tailby all also took three frames each.

The next match on the calendar will be at the new 147 venue, our first match there since opening. Really looking forward to it!

Next match:
18th May v Nottinghamshire [Home]

ladies tour

Tour 1:
29th & 30th March @ Miscues, Barnsley

Main: (R1) Final: Collette Henriksen 7-2 Emma Cunningham
Plate: (QF) Final: Leah Willet 5-1 Sue Ramsbottom

For the first tour of the year I drew Sue Ramsbottom in the 9.30am round. I'm not the best at that time in the morning but was confident going into the match after playing well recently. Sue however, who had qualified for the England ladies team earlier in the month, rattled off a 5-2 victory over me. I struggled a bit with my position which cost me a couple of frames but overall Sue deserved to go through.

So into the plate I went... winning a very close match against Theresa Sheridan 4-3, then had a bye in R2 to see me playing against Norma Nagle in the last 16. After going 2 nil down when I probably could have had both opening frames, I went on to take the next 4. I was through to my first Sunday in a Quarter Final against my friend Anne-Louise Eaton. We both struggled in the early frames but it was close all the way with Loopy coming out victor 5-4.

I was well happy though to get that far, and have improved on each tour so far. Next tour is at Peterborough where I have drawn Leicestershire team mate Rebecca Osborne. It should be another close match, just a shame we have drawn each other again!! Tour 2 also includes the World Championships qualifiers.
