This was my second time at the Jersey festival, although last year it was a case of less pool playing, more drinking! Well not so this year, I was determined to do well and reached the final of the first event, the Jersey Ladies singles. I was confident all the way through until the final where I bottled it and lost 5-2!
I reached to last 32 of the Jersey Open only to be knocked out by PPPO pro Jayson Shaw 4-2. He went on to reach the final and was impressed with my game which was nice! I was drawn against our own Tom Ford in the pro-am event after beating the slowest player on earth in the first round. Tom beat me 5-1 although he had to give me a 1 start!!
In the second ladies event, the Jersey Ladies Championship, I reached the semi finals where I got knocked out by the eventual winner Amanda Watson 4-2. It was a great match, although I'd done a lovely clearance, including a skill shot, to make it 3 apiece, but I missed a black into the middle and didn't get another chance!
I came away feeling more confident in my game and a wedge of cash in my back pocket for my efforts, and i'm looking forward to next year's event already!!
