After a brilliant weekend in Great Yarmouth the previous weekend, we got off to a great start against our toughest opponents in the region. We had a great team spirit and were behind each other 100% which gave us the edge, taking a 7-4 lead in the first leg. Staffs however pulled back a few frames in the next two rounds and we headed into the final quarter neck and neck. You can imagine our disappointment as our wheels fell off, taking just 3 frames out of the final 11 to end up losing a match we should have won... I'm afraid it was one too many sloppy errors and missed chances. We are good enough to win this region so let's start proving it on the table and make every leg count...... COME ON THE LEICESTER!!!!!!
Star of the show Nicola Ball showed her class by winning maximum frames and her first player of the match trophy, while Sarah Day also had an excellent match winning 4/4, fighting hard to win the anchor leg. Helen Turner won 3/4 but was unlucky not to clinch her final frame. I only managed 2/4 but should have won my last leg to make it 3. I cocked up with 2 shots and didn't finish it, she cleared well from where she was.
