We got off to a flying start in the first leg only to be clawed back level by a consistent West Mids team. First and foremost we needed the win but a good scoreline was also imperative and we showed great character by taking 11 of the last 14 frames.

Caz Bowkett and myself both continued our impressive start to the season by winning 4 frames out of 4. Chris Kirk and Teresa Blair bagged 3 from 4 and the rest of the squad made valuable contributions to get us over the winning line.

tuesday night pool league

2 matches into the new season and we've got 2 wins on the board under our new team name 'Tuesday Misfits'. Last week we got off to a bit of a shaky start against the Foxy Ladies narrowly beating them 6-4, I played one frame and won but I made hard work of it to say the least!

This week we played 147 'E' and had an impressive 9-1 victory over them with only Mark W losing one of his 2 frames.

After narrowly missing out on second spot last season we are focussed on winning as many frames as we can and have added to and improved our squad accordingly. It's not likely we'll push 147 'A' for the title mind!!

Won 24-20

The first home match of the season was a case of missed opportunities for the Ladies team. Although we got the win, the scoreline was disappointing having given away several frames cheaply.

I won my first player of the match award for the season with four frames out of four, and Chris Kirk put in a captain's performance also taking maximum frames. Helen Turner, Steph Kirk and Caz Bowkett all won a respectable three out of four but the rest of the team seemed to struggle against an ever improving Derbyshire side.

As missing out on the National Finals last season proved, every leg counts... and with a trip to Stourbridge at the end of the month we need to get our heads up and fight for every frame!!
