CPL presentation

team photo

The presentation night always rounds the season off nicely, this season we didn't have any awards to pick up ourselves but I saw my brother's team crowned in the division 1 knock-out cup, my old team the Linford collect their division 1 champions trophies, and my team captain John Ball pick up his landlord singles runner-up award.

The cue on his clock trophy looked more like a cigar, as modelled above hahaha :D

coalville pool league

Last match:
16th February, Charnwood Club [Home]
Lost 4-3

This was the last match of the season, against my old team the Charnwood Club. We just about managed the 3-4 result but had to win the last doubles to get the third, so it could have been worse! I lost my singles against young Mark Whitehead after leaving myself short potting my last ball and snookering myself on the black! Mark made a good clearance though to claim the frame.

Not 100% sure when the new season will start, most likely mid march.

Coalville pool league

Last match of the season next week against my old team, Charnwood Club!

Next match:
16th February, Charnwood Club [Home]

Last match:
9th February, Kings Arms A [Away]
Won 6-1

Finally our first win of the New Year comes at the expense of the struggling Kings Arms A. It's quite a hard venue to play as they only have a 6ft table apposed to the normal 7ft. Let's hope we can finish the season on a high next week against my friends from the Charnwood!

team photo

We had a team photo done at the last match, I'm in my 4th season now and it's the first one we've had done since I joined, so I just had to have a copy!

Back row, from left to right: Me, Julie, Sam, Helen, Stacie, Charlene, Caz
Front row, from left to right: Teresa, Tara, Steph, Chris (C), Karen, Lucy, Sarah

County

Next match:
12th March, Derbyshire [Away]

Last match:
5th February, Nottinghamshire [Home]
Lost 25-19

Personally I had a great match, winning 3/4 and picking up the Player of the Match award for the second time in 3 matches! I had a great win against Debbie Fowkes-Birchell in the first game but lost my last against Tara Jackson. They both came joint 2nd in the region & 15th nationally last season. Notts seem to be a bit of a bogey team for us, losing again to them at home.

England trials

The England team trials take place on March 3rd, and I'll be making the trip down to Great Yarmouth to support Leicestershire's Sarah Day, who was the only player from our County to qualify without play-offs!

The top 8 from each region get through to trials, so there's something for me to aim for myself there over the coming years!

The Inter-County finals are also being held over the same weekend.
